Black History Month Closing.....

      Today is 2/28 the last day of black history month for the year 2013. #DidYouKnow Black history Month was literally just 1 week ?       There once was a week in February dedicated to Negroes known as "Negro History week". This was a short period to reflect on what you've learned over the past year. A man by the name of Carter G Woodson is the reason we have Black History Month. He figured since Frederick Douglas  and President Lincolns  birthday were both in the month why not dedicate an entire month to the history of Negroes.  "If you start from slavery , everything from that point seems like a accomplishment"-Carter G Woodson  This entire theory of having one particular month set aside to discuss the history of Negroes is a very touchy issue. Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996) was a highly influential, best-selling American hip hop artist, considered by many to be one of the greatest and most legendary rappers of all time. Most of Tupac’s songs concerned growing up around violence and hardships in ghettos, racial inequality and sometimes his feuds with fellow rappers in the United States. Physician Mae C. Jemison was born October 17, 1956, in Decatur, Alabama. On June 4, 1987, she became the first African-American woman ever admitted into the astronaut training program. On September 12, 1992, Jemison finally flew into space with six other astronauts aboard the Endeavour on mission STS47. Dr. Maya Angelou is one of the most renowned and influential voices of our time. Hailed as a global renaissance woman, Dr. Angelou is a celebrated poet, memoirist, novelist, educator, dramatist, producer, actress, historian, filmmaker, and civil rights activist. Born on April 4th, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Angelou was raised in St. Louis and Stamps, Arkansas. In Stamps, Dr. Angelou experienced the brutality of racial discrimination, but she also absorbed the unshakable faith and values of traditional African-American family, community, and culture. Chris Dorner : "Dead or Alive"

             Tuesday LAPD sent America in a frenzy as they closed in on Christopher Dorner. According to reports they had him boxed in at a cabin in Black Bear California.  Dorner allegedly tied and bound a couple in one of their cabins, stole their car and barricaded himself in a cabin near by  when Officers started to close in on him. After  2 officers were shot one injured and one dead authorities moved in on the cabin. They claim they hit the cabin wit tear gas and flash bombs and in result an explosion occurred and the cabin went up in flames. According to the owner of the cabin that  Dorner was said to have occupied, the cabin was powered by propane which may have caused the explosion.                 There are many loops and holes to the this story already. 3 arrest made in connection with the viral video

Earlier this week we bought you guys the story about the heinous "Whipping" video sweeping the nation. We also released a statement from a Newark native rapper by the name of Riq Bubz dismissing his involvement. Well some arrest were made Tuesday. All suspects are in police custody at the moment.  The ring Leader as authorities named him is 22 year old Ahmad Holt. Ahmad who carried out the attack in fact was already in custody at an institution in Trenton when the video was released. The Second suspect is Raheem Clark 31. He Provided the belt to beat the victim. The third suspect is 23 year old Jamaar Gray. He is the comical cameraman that request the victim to look into the camera and repeat "Its a Dog eat Dog world". Spike Lee was born Shelton Jackson Lee on March 20, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was making amateur films by age 20, and won a Student Academy Award for his graduate thesis film. Lee drew attention with his first feature,   She's Gotta Have It —one of the most profitable films made in 1986—and continues to create films that explore provoking topics like race, politics and violence. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela   was born in Transkei, South Africa on July 18, 1918. His father was Chief Henry Mandela of the Tembu Tribe. Mandela himself was educated at University College of Fort Hare and the University of Witwatersrand and qualified in law in 1942. He joined the African National Congress in 1944 and was engaged in resistance against the ruling National Party's apartheid policies after 1948. He went on trial for treason in 1956-1961 and was acquitted in 1961. After the banning of the ANC in 1960, Nelson Mandela argued for the setting up of a military wing within the ANC. In June 1961, the ANC executive considered his proposal on the use of violent tactics and agreed that those members who wished to involve themselves in Mandela's campaign would not be stopped from doing so by the ANC.
