When Love Ends Wrong.. 17yr Prom Queen Gone too Soon!

Essex County investigators are searching for a suspect in the murder of a 17-yr-old East Orange teen. Aquilla Flood was found unconscious in a pool of blood in her bed around 7:30 Wednesday morning by a family member. The family member alerted authorities immediately. Flood's family says she's been receiving threatening messages from an ex-boyfriend. The family believes someone came in to their Grove St home in the middle of the night. Authorities have not yet confirmed any signs of forced entry or anything suspicious.
Flood spent her last hours out shopping with her mom and grandmother for shoes and other last minute items for her prom before she went off to bed Tuesday night. The teen was set to attend her high school prom where she'd been nominated as prom queen just next week. "She was all set and ready to attend prom next week with her shoes and dressed already laid out", said a member of her family. Neighbor say "she was an only child who was one of the few kids in the neighborhood who was doing something with herself".

Authorities later found a revolver across the street from the teens home. Authorities are now looking for 18-year old Almuqqadin Means. Means is said to be Flood's ex-boyfriend. Both teens are students at East Orange Campus High School.  A warrant has been issued for Means arrest on weapons and murder charges. No word on what exactly happened. Is this a break-up gone wrong? What drove Means to allegedly murder his ex-girlfriend?

Where are the parents in situations like this? Where have our youth gone? No parent should have to bury their child, an act that is becoming far too common in our community. When will it all stop? Who will be the one to make a difference?
